Setting small network using networking switch


Setting up a small network using a network Switch.
Our class of IP is class B
172.16.2.xxx
And the subnet  is
255.255.0.0 that is class B

Our switch will set out star topology .
Step by step
Turn off all the machines to be connected.
For class purpose disconnect all the machines from the net work wall outlet and bring them close in two benches four or more machines
Plug the patch cords both to the switch and the NIC on computers
Power on the switch first then the machines
Set the first PC as a default gateway  by
Start > control panel> network connections
Then right click LAN Adapter   and select properties> TCP IPv4> properties


The rest of the PC  set the IPs from 11 to any number below 255
Like


Then  ping machines

Lastly share resource
